This is it. The end of 2014. The year came…and went. What transpired this past year? I realize this year has been a year of discovery. Seems silly to say that at this stage of my life, but it’s true. I can learn new tricks!
I discovered a new vision, hopes, and directions. I learned how to put a fresh face on my blog. I discovered a new group of fellow travelers who taught me new ways of thinking and that in turn helped me get out of my box. I love this.
God never intended us to sit still. He never said, “wait here while I work in your life.” No, He intended that we go forward. One foot in front of the other. Daring to take risks. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV) As I take a step, He’s there, ready to meet and show me where the next footfall goes.
I am overflowing with anticipation for the year ahead. This year is gone — but there’s a new one waiting in the wings. Twelve brand new months. 365 days. And I am excited. Yes!
A friend called today and as we talked, a theme emerged. We each agreed that we want to be intentional in this new year. It is so easy to march through the days with no particular destination in mind. God knows I’ve spent too much time in that mindset. No, this year I want Him to guide me to a higher place, a place that is actually on my agenda.
Take me to another place Lord, a higher place than this I’ve been walking in. Take my hand and help me arrive there, the place you are delighted to show me. I want to be intentional about where I’m going, what I’ll do. I want to go with you, Lord, because all your ways are ultimately for me.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
Do you see the way? Take a step…
Wow! Just the verse that has carried me through the ‘intentional’ process with a “Driftwood Refugee family”. “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
He is the Master of making a way! I’d love to know your first name so I might call you by that! Happy New Year!
I’m Lisa Enqvist. We met through Tribe Writers. I’m trying to build my blog – but have had too little concentration-time! Also the self-hosting is a bit of a hurdle at the moment. Maybe later…
So happy to meet you Lisa. Don’t give up on your blog…it takes a bit of wading through but if I can do it, you can too!
